Announcing Expanded Third Season for Team Broadway
Teen City Stage is excited to announce a third track for their third season of Team Broadway this fall.
Due to the overwhelming demand for the High School Program, and the feedback we received, we have added a High School Revue Track, which will celebrate the songs of a Contemporary Musical Theater Composer/Lyricist and allow for more of our extremely talented performers to be featured.
For it’s Third Season, Team Broadway will now provide three separate tracks:
- Middle School Production: Shrek the Musical Jr for our younger students who are at least 11 years old by December 31st 2015 and/or in Middle School (6th through 8th grade). Accepting 35-40 students max. Tuition is $800
- High School Production: Cabaret for our high school students (9th through 12th grade). Accepting 30 Students Max – of which up to 8 Ensemble Roles. Tuition is $800 except for Ensemble, which is $400.
- High School Revue: For High School Students who would either prefer to do a Revue, or who have been cast in Cabaret in an ensemble role only. This will be a one-hour Revue of music pulled from shows of a single contemporary musical theatre composer/lyricist, as well as some shortened solos and duets, and will include a 12-minute cut that will be performed at competition. Please note that if you have been cast as a principal or supporting role (Kit Kat Girl/Boy) other than on an exception basis with pre-authorization from the directors, you will not be cast in the Revue. If you are cast in the Revue, other than on an exception basis with pre-authorization from directors, you must attend competition. Tuition is $400.
Each group will have the opportunity to compete at the Musical Theatre Competitions of America (MTCA) in California in February should they choose to.
Please view the schedule and details including rehearsal dates and tuition rates for each track. As always Teen City stage is committed to making the program accessible to as many as possible and will offer needs-based partial and full scholarships to qualified students. Scholarship information can be found on the forms page.
Auditions/Callbacks will be held on August 24, 26 and 27. Students who have participated in at least one season of Team Broadway will not need to audition on Monday August 24. Therefore August 24 auditions will be reserved for new students only. August 26 (MS) and 27 (HS) will be used for casting the productions and the revues.
Please sign up for Team Broadway by clicking the Sign Up link below and once you do you will receive an audition form and instructions for the auditions on the 24 as well as the 26 and 27.
All auditions, callbacks and rehearsals (except for Tech Week) will be held at Spirit Square in Studio C, at 345 N College Street in Uptown Charlotte.
Tech Week and Performances of the Productions will take place at Pease Auditorium.
There will be One Performance and Tech Time of the Revue. Performance will be at Pease Auditorium on January 30, 2016 at 7pm.
We are excited that we were able to incorporate your feedback into the plans for next year and are excited about being able to showcase so many talented young actors next season!
